It’s been 5 days since I shared the last of these - where I share a roundup of all the interesting things I have spotted in gaming news. There’s a lot of different topics this week, but as always it remains Steam Deck, Linux, GOG, emulation, Switch and gaming in general!

The music is just off. Like........it works but it's for sure not Mick Gordon. This feels like I've got Mudvayne's practice tapes playing over the gameplay.

Today's game is Minecraft Xbox 360 edition. The soundtrack for the Oblivion remaster has me wanting to play Fable 2 again (they sound really similar, at least in my head), and i have a disk copy of Fable 2, which i was trying to figure out how to dump the files to Emulate with Xenia (so it's all configured for when i want to play later). I first decided to try Xenia with Minecraft Xbox 360 edition, which is how i got here. I wanted to get it to the Titled Update (TU) that i grew up with, but i couldn't remember which one that was. I could have googled it like a normal person, but where's the fun in that? So i instead downloaded a few and would jump ahead until i got there.

Today's game is some more Oblivion. I nearly went back to Daggerfall, but i went to that wanting to be a brief break from Oblivion for fun. I wasn't expecting to get hooked on it lol. I ended up having to sit myself down and basically go "No more Daggerfall until you finish Oblivion". I went ahead and did some more of the Shivering Isles questline today. I ended up getting in deep shit with the law after i got caught trespassing trying to get the Duke of Mania to Overdose on a drug so i can steal his blood to replace him. I ran out of the city to wait for it to blow over and got this screenshot of the waterfall.

What are some of your favorite memories playing this game?

Today's game is some more Daggerfall. I originally intended to just go back to oblivion, but fuck Daggerfall is addicting. I love how immersive it feels. There's a ghost haunting this one specific town? It actually attacks you at night in that one specific town out of like 2000 towns in the region. Need to find someone specific? You'll have to ask around. The asking does get a bit tedious when everyone is pissed at you for some reason and won't help you, but the world is so much fun to explore regardless.

I know this is going to sound like copium, but I love having to fiddle with settings to get original Oblivion running on my 2019 X1 Carbon. It gives me this nostalgia feeling of where I first ran oblivion on PC on my Dell E310 with a Pentium 4 single core and GeForce 6200LE I pencil modded. I’m having to run out at 720p and 4x AF, but it feels like Xbox 360 to me and I love

Today's game is Elder Scrolls Daggerfall. All the Oblivion i've been playing has been making me want to give this game another go. So i ended up downloading the Daggerfall Unity Version and a few mods.

The creator of Stardew Valley has said that he might make Stardew Valley 2, but he really enjoys just adding 'more stuff to Stardew Valley.'

With the implementation of Patch v0.5.5 this week, we must make yet another compromise. From this patch onward, gliding will be performed using a glider rather than with Pals. Pals in the player’s team will still provide passive buffs to gliding, but players will now need to have a glider in their inventory in order to glide.

I continued working my way through Oblivion's Shivering Isles DLC today. I didn't end up making it far as i experienced a crash that undid a bit of progress. It was the first time i've had the game itself crash which i'm surprised about. I've hear a ton of people saying it crashes regularly so having it crash only once i've beaten the main story is a bit interesting. I feel like Bazzite has crashed more than this game to be honest.

Silent Hill 2 remake has just been released on GOG. Definitely wasn't expecting this to happen less than a year after release.

I finished the Dark Brotherhood quest today in Oblivion and finally went back to the Main Story. I'm not a big magic guy so i figured i'd save the Mage's guild for the post game. I went ahead into the Shrine for the Main story to get the Amulet. In the room above i got to pull of some sick stealth archer maneuvers too and took down everyone before they attacked me. I even stunned the main guy there for a few seconds.
