I just finished C25K, Week 5, Day 3 last week. During the run, I had a very slight knee pain that I was able to push through without any problems. I just started running this year and I have to blow my nose every 2-3 miles when I run. Does everyone do this? Will it ever end?

I was doing speed repeats and stopped my Garmin watch repeatedly when resting. My moving time was close to my 5K PB, but this wouldn’t have been possible on one continuous run and consequently my Strava activity looks deceiving as the elapsed time was a few minutes longer. Is this acceptable or should I delete the activity?

Hi, I hurt my left hamstring while running in the winter due to not warming up properly and likely not stretching the hamstring enough. It feels much better now, though, and I have tried running on occasion. However, running noticeably makes it feel sore, and if I were to keep running, I think I would injure it again, so I have assumed I should continue resting it. Is this true- is the best I can do now to take up another sport (biking has been fine), wait, and continue only when it does not feel sore after a trial run?

Inspired by a podcast of the same name (running is BS) that loves to hate running.

So I've been running like a mile each day for 3 days out of the week. But I've laid it off since I've been getting a lot of plantar fascitis, knee pain, and pain around my shins.

I arrived in Wellington yesterday, and at parkrun I discovered Round the Bays is on on the next day (now today). So I signed up for my first ever international race, with zero prep. It starts in 90 minutes. What could go wrong? :p

Bought a few $10 pairs of gym shorts from a big box store, probably an 8" inseam. I wear boxer brief style compression undies when I run, so netting and how they feel on my skin isn't really an issue. They have side pockets that are fine for carrying my key fob, which is the only thing I really need for most runs. On runs they seem completely adequate. What am I missing by not wearing more expensive or nicer shorts purpose made for running? Is it one of those things where if I try something nicer I won't be able to go back?

Training routine: 8k/50min once a week, 1-2 (usually 1) slower runs of 3k-ish.

Let me start by saying that I am not a runner. I hope to be one day, but for now I'm just running < 1 mile after work.

My #Garmin watch has been pushing up my auto-detected maximum heart rate for months now.

I'm seeing weird results with my heart rate strap. My ground contact time is really low, but my vertical oscillation is really high! One indicates good form, the other indicates bad form. My subjective experience is that my vertical oscillation is low, but my garmin disagrees.

when I run on my treadmill, it has suddenly started feeling like it briefly stops the belt whenever I land my stride. I've tried greasing the board underneath the belt with silicone grease according to the manual, but that didn't help. Any advice on how to fix this? Could it be the belt that needs tightening?

I've been using the Garmin daily suggested workouts for about a month or so now and have been enjoying the various types of runs it suggests, however I'd had my watch set to "pace" where the workouts are based on pace, instead of heart rate. I'd read that people have had a lot more success with the heart rate setting so thought I'd give it a go today for a tempo run.

I'm looking for some new ear buds for running and other purposes, but finding anything suited for a mediocre active lifestyle seems hard.

Just a general thread about running. How's your running going? What are you training for? Did you get new shoes? Sporting an injury etc.

I am a runner, on and off depending on injuries and life, for the last 15 years. I fixed my running form best I could, but never got the hang of high cadence. Everyone says that around 180 smp is best, use a Metronom to get used to the speed of the steps. But it always felt forced to me, like extra work with little benefit. So I did my runs at 160 spm. Last Weekend I did 11 km and on the final stretch I stopped the music and listened to my body. I played with the lean of my straight torso and when I shifted my lean forward, my steps got smaller and faster, while I went the same speed.

have issues with my feet in the metatarsal region. no idea if it's temporary or there for good. just checking if this means no running for me ever or are folks out there running with this condition. thanks.

Any advice on fixing a form. I feel I might at times be slouching forward and heel driving I correct it but just keep going back. Kinda getting back into it (started on and off running Jan - April but stopped) but couldn't remember how too have the right form

Been back into running for about a year after a long hiatus. When I ran before it was just for cardio but I did a half marathon back in the day.

I know this is difficult to diagnose - it's troublesome in person also. I have intermittent sharp pain in the front outer side of my left knee that feels like someone took a hammer to the funny bone. Happens when I'm walking, particularly when taking a left bend, but sometimes I can run and play tennis with no issues.

My third marathon was this morning. Both previous times I followed a 4 hour training plan with a longest run around 35km before tapering. Both times I got to 30km and fell apart, walked, felt sad.

Since i discovered i really like running when its raining, but hate feeling of wet socks, what would you recomend? Are there some waterproof / neoprene socks or that would be a really bad idea?
