The US Department of the Treasury issued a semiannual regulatory agenda on August 16, 2024, proposing a revised definition of “money” to include cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. Today is a very sad day. Apparently, cake wallet has made the asenine decision to abandon their fdroid repository for this other app store called accrescent Which is a centralized store very focused on security but has a central point of failure and can pull apps at any time they wish for any reason or no reason at all or succumb to government take down requests.

https://unstoppableswap.net / https://github.com/UnstoppableSwap/core makers (i do not mean a SW developers, but swap providers) seems to have swap markup (assuming a fee) of around 3% which is too expensive and along with the limits on amount of traded coin pretty unusable IMO. Am I missing any makers or source for it which allows near zero fees/markup? Why such makers are not available (by default)?

Hey there! I want to get some Monero in exchange for cash via post.

I'm just starting to learn Haveno. When you hover the cursor over the seller, all you get is a "Maker's onion address". I realize that the whole purpose of Haveno is for both buyers and sellers to be anonymous, but I'd be more likely to use the service if I recognized the name of a trusted seller from localmonero. I know several of them are trading on Haveno, but I can't tell who is who. So I guess I'm asking if there is a way to find the trusted seller's online moniker if they care to divulge it for the purpose of buyers being able to choose a seller based on their localmonero reputation.

Haveno-Reto has become RetoSwap with a new X handle and a new SimpleX room. It would be best to remove the old SimpleX room and join the new one. At the moment the website is still haveno-reto.com but I expect that to be changed soon.

I'm new to cryptocurrecy and I'm wanting to finally start using Monero. At least a year ago, I heard it was possible to buy XMR completely anonymously using Amazon gift cards bought from retail stores using cash, but I can't seem to find any information about that online anymore. From what I've heard, you can use your XMR to get some kind of card which you're able to use in place of a typical debit mastercard and thus be able to buy groceries using Monero.

I know there was a ddos attack a while back, but it would be nice to access and be able to log in to this site again using Tails/Tor without giving location away. Using a VPN after Tor on Tails is a security risk and is difficult to figure out how to install on Tails for most people. Beginning with it's creation and right up to the attack, Tor exit nodes weren't blocked. Now they still are. Opening it up again might increase the userbase. Using sites like proxysite.com via Tor only works to read posts here about 1 out of 10 attempts and never allows log ins here.

Do you hold or trade Monero or just use the coin with his direct purpose, for anonymous transactions?

I tried this last time and it didn't work and I went to support and got scammed on telegram. Lesson learned, but I still have like $50 worth of render I'd like to switch over to the Sol render so I can actually sell it and get out of this shit coin. Please, what do I do? Will any solana wallet work to receive it? Wtf is a wormhole? I hate projects like this that can't just keep things the way they are and instead fuck everyone with their shit "upgrades"
